Our First Supporting Member: Enterprise Machine Intelligence & Learning Initiative (EMILI), Winnipeg, Canada
Making smart decisions with data is essential for growers across the world, building capacity for success. Our first supporting member, EMILI ,is a non-profit organization based in Winnipeg, Canada, that is indeed a capacity builder. EMILI is focused on working with industry, the public sector, and academia to accelerate the development of digital agriculture, advance the adoption of intelligent technologies, and provide people with the skills and training required to succeed in the modern agrifood sector.
EMILI works with producers and other key players to strengthen the data governance capacity of the Canadian agriculture and food sector through the EMILI Data Initiative. Using a unique combination of technology demonstration, applied research, and data literacy training programs the EMILI Data Initiative helps build knowledge and skills on important questions related to ag data including data ownership, privacy, and interoperability. You can see many similar themes to ADT’s work!
EMILI is currently focused on building the Canadian Agri-Food Data Initiative - a national project that will drive collaboration and coordination on data governance across the whole of the Canadian agri-food sector. For more information visit http://data.emilicanada.com.
The team at EMILI was excited when the ADT supporting membership category was added, and quickly became our first supporting member. For EMILI, joining ADT builds on the work of the EMILI Data Initiative to empower growers with the knowledge and tools they need to make smart, strategic decisions about their data.
“We’re looking forward to helping spread the word in Canada on the role of ADT in the agtech ecosystem, and to work with other ADT members to continue building the Ag Data Transparent movement and the ADT certification process, to support the successful long-term digitization of the agri-food sector,” says Jacqueline Keena, Managing Director, EMILI Canada.
“Ag Data Transparent certification is an important tool for growers making decisions about the technology and vendors they choose to work with,” said Keena. “EMILI is proud to join ADT as its first supporting member. It's a great opportunity to build on our work to develop the Canadian Agri-Food Data Initiative and to extend the reach of ADT in Canada.”
Thank you, EMILI, for leading the way in ADT supporting membership!
