AgSights Company Feature

What began as a mandate for beef genetics improvement in 1993 quickly evolved into the myriad of services offered by AgSights today. With many of those offerings, data collection became necessary.  Betty-Jo Almond, General Manager of AgSights, makes one thing clear regarding data collection in agriculture: “If it’s not easy, it won’t happen.” That’s why AgSights prides itself on making data collection easier than ever for farmers.

“AgSights offers innovative solutions to track products, collect data, and provide valuable information.  We make data management easy, build links to share information and provide continuous support for all our solutions,” explains Almond. “AgSights solutions include on-farm herd management (Go360bioTrack); Agri-Food Business tracking from inventory through to customers (bioLinks); genetic evaluations for beef, sheep and goats; and research to continue to innovate the value our products add through genetic evaluations and data management.”

AgSights is especially excited to announce a new feature that will make farm data collection easier than ever.

“We are about to launch a new feature in our on-farm solution that means producers can collect data with or without internet. Data is kept secure on the device used to collect it.  When the producer is connected again, they can check in their offline data with the click of a button. Go360bioTrack clients collect data with iOs devices and synchronize when re-connected to internet.”

Hosting so much data and making it readily available to producers calls for serious data security measures. That’s why, in 2018, AgSights created a data use policy that ensured transparency for their producers and others considering being members or collaborators. Alongside this internal policy, AgSights became ADT Certified.

Of the certification, Almond says, “The principles of the Ag Data Transparent program bring the highest standard to data management. Our three core values are integrity, trust and value, and becoming ADT Certified builds on those values.  AgSights is proud to be an ADT certified company,”

Ultimately, being ADT Certified allows AgSights to focus on the simplicity they believe is imperative to data collection in agriculture. “AgSights believes in collaboration and to not reinvent the wheel when bringing innovative solutions to producers. As we integrate with organizations to seamlessly share data when producers approve to do so, ADT certification is extremely important.”
