ADT and NASA: Focused on Helping Farmers Get the Most From Their Data
Ag Data Transparent (ADT) is focused on transparency, simplicity and trust in the use of Ag data. This is an industry-wide effort, involving a variety of organizations and government agencies involved in data collection and use. A new collaboration has been announced between ADT and supporting member NASA Acres, NASA’s new Consortium focused on agriculture and food security in the United States, to advance data use to benefit farmers.
NASA Acres has published a story on our work together and upcoming farmer survey that can help identify farmer “pain points” when it comes to data collection. Todd Janzen, ADT Administrator, explains.
“I'm happy to be involved with NASA Acres as a part of this survey,” says Janzen, “because one thing that Ag Data Transparent really needs is good data about the farmer's pain points with respect to data collection. And, I felt like we had our hands around that really well a few years ago and just can't wait to find out what current attitudes are from farmers and if that's changed over the years.”
Farm Journal’s Trust in Food Division is another key collaborator on the farmer survey effort.
