True to Mission, True to Transparency: ADT in 2021
As 2021 draws to an end, Ag Data Transparent (ADT) celebrates a year of being true to its mission and true to the cause of transparency, simplicity and trust in Ag Data use. Todd Janzen, ADT Administrator, pointed out that the mission established in 2016 continues guiding the organization. Here is that mission:
“The purpose of the corporation shall be to provide informational and educational tools and services that assist farmers with understanding and evaluating contracts associated with collection, storage, transfer and use of agricultural data. – By Laws, 2016”
Five new organizations became ADT Certified in 2021, bringing the total to 30 organizations who share their commitment to transparent use of their customers’ data. Along with organizations who competed the certification process, numerous organizations took advantage of the Model Ag Data Use agreement that the organization provides. You can link here to see that agreement. This document can be used to begin the path to certification.
ADT keeps the farmer’s need at the core of its efforts. In fact, all the farmer groups who are supporters must approve any major change to by laws. We thank these farm groups for their support and leadership:
American Farm Bureau Federation
American Soybean Association
National Association of Wheat Growers
National Corn Growers Association
National Farmers Union
National Potato Council
National Sorghum Producers
Pork Checkoff
With many organizations in the certification pipeline, the new year is shaping up nicely. The Board will discuss new ideas and initiatives yet staying true to the mission of providing transparency for farmers.
