Gripp has the ability to collect following types of information:
Agronomic Data. This includes crop and field information, such as planting data, seed type, yield disease and pest management application, fertilization, prescriptions and other related agronomic data.
Farm Management Data. This includes information related to financial, tax, employment, commodity price, regulatory compliance, supply chain, and other management data.
Machine Data. This includes telematics information, rolling and fixed assets data, machine/equipment health, fuel consumption, load, use, other machine/equipment performance and reference data, and other asset related records and information pertaining to a farming operation that need to be maintained or tracked.
Livestock Data, including animal identification and pedigree, genetic and genomic information, feed consumption, and other data related to livestock.

3. Ownership
Do the tech company’s agreements with the user address ownership of user data?
Yes.
Section 2 of Gripp’s Ag Data Use Agreement states: Gripp believes that you are the owner of Ag Data that originates from your farm, device, or equipment. Gripp believes that ownership should give you the right to share, download, and delete your Ag Data.

4. Transparency in Aggregation
Does the tech company allow the user to opt out of inclusion in anonymized and aggregated datasets that are accessible by other users?
Yes. In section 4.2 of Gripp’s Ag Data Use Agreement, we will allow user to opt out of aggregate data sharing.

5. Vendor Access to Data
Does the tech company require outside contractors that have access to user data to follow the tech company’s data policies?
Yes. Section 4.3 of Gripp’s Ag Data Use Agreement states that: To the extent that Gripp engages in third parties to perform data processing on your Ag Data, these third party processors must abide by this agreement.

6. Consent
Does the tech company obtain a user’s consent before sharing user data with third parties? (E.g. integrations, government and others)
Yes. Section 5 of Gripp’s Ag Data Use Agreement states that Gripp will obtain a user’s consent before sharing data with third parties, including trusted advisors, integrations, and government agencies.

7. Consent
By signing up, does the user give the tech company the right to sell aggregated data to third parties without obtaining further consent?
No. Section 4.2 of Gripp’s Ag Data Use Agreement states that: Aggregated Data can be used by Gripp for any lawful purpose, however, Gripp does not intend to sell Aggregated Data, and if that changes we would only do it with your consent.

8. Portability
Does the tech company maintain an original copy of user data that can be retrieved or deleted upon a user’s request?
Yes. In Section 6 of Gripp’s Ag Data User Agreement, it states that users can request a download of your Ag Data at any time as long as you maintain an active account with Gripp. In some circumstances, your Ag Data may not be retrievable in its original format.

9. Data Security
Will the tech company notify the user if a breach of data security causes disclosure of the user’s data to an outside party?
Yes. Section 8 of Gripp’s Ag Data Use Agreement states that Gripp will notify users in the event of a data breach, natural disaster, or other unforeseen event that causes Ag Data to be deleted or compromised.

10. Notice
Will the tech company notify the user when data agreements are changed and summarize how the agreements were changed?
Yes. In Section 7 of Gripp’s Ag Data Use Agreement, Gripp promises to notify users by email or when logging into their account of any changes to Gripp’s Ag Data Use Agreement. Gripp will typically provide a summary of any substantial changes to such agreements, if necessary.

11. Changes in Company Ownership
Do the tech company’s data agreements address what happens to user data if the tech company is sold to another company?
Yes. In Section 11 of Gripp’s Ag Data Use Agreement, Gripp states that in the event Gripp is sold or acquired by another company (at least 51% of Gripp ownership interest is transferred to new owners in a single calendar year), users will be notified and have the option of deleting Ag Data for at least thirty (30) days after the transfer.
